Coming from a humble beginning, I am a confident, articulate and multifaceted personality serving in the public domain for the last 45 Years. The rich experiences in various fields of activities and across all sections of society have provided a strong foundation for any challenges.
Four decades of dedication to public service and nation building
Trained as Indian Revenue Service officer in Lal Bahadur Shastri National Academy of Administration, Mussoorie and National Academy of Direct Taxes in Nagpur.
Served as Assistant Commissioner of Income Tax in Chennai, gaining exposure to management systems of major corporate houses including Thanjavur Textiles, SPIC Group, and Chola Mandalam Group.
After brief posting in Shillong, pursued MBA from University of Sydney, Australia with Asian Development Bank scholarship. This provided global business perspective and international networking.
Served as Additional Private Secretary in Ministry of Steel & Mines, Government of India. Managed operations of SAIL, NALCO, HSCL, handled Parliament questions, and oversaw PSU business operations.
Posted as Deputy Director and Additional Director of Income Tax, Investigation in Delhi. Conducted search and seizure operations in major tax evasion cases, requiring exceptional management and confidentiality skills.
Worked as Private Secretary to the Minister of Defense, Government of India. Gained deep insights into defense sector, PSUs like BEML, BEL (Navratna companies), and Ordnance Factories.
Served as Principal Director of Investigation in Department of Criminal Investigation and Intelligence, Principal Commissioner of Income Tax Central Circle. Investigated money laundering, foreign tax evasion, and financial fraud cases.
Worked as Principal Commissioner of Income Tax in Dibrugarh, Assam. Oversaw operations involving Oil India Limited, NRL, and other petroleum corporations. Retired on October 31, 2020.
Post-retirement, actively engaged in social services, farming, providing free coaching for Civil Services, spiritual and cultural development of Assamese society, and working with charitable trusts.
